Initial sanding of Madrose (Dalbergia Baronii) for the first time, expecting it to be pretty resinous and the sets are all pretty thick. I'm using cloth backed zirconium abrasives - should I start with 60 or 80 grit? |

40 grit light passes., then switch to 60 grit when you get within the last few thousandths. |

I'm close to what Aaron does. 36 grit to about .5 or .6mm over final thickness. Finish with #80 cabinet scraper. |

I start with 60 grit till .125, then 100 grit to .105, the 150 to desired final dimension which for me is always .090 for back and sides. Tops are different. |
